Brandt was commissioned to serve as the design-build contractor on this complete air force base energy retrofit. Working with the base, Brandt helped identify buildings and systems that needed work and would also decrease the electrical consumption of the system. Forty-eight buildings were identified as candidates; after initial assessment, the buildings were evaluated based upon need and payback. As the actual scope took shape, Brandt developed plans and schedules to complete the work.
This contract was completed March 2001.
In 2004, Brandt was awarded this Design Build Fast Track project.
The scope of work included the construction of an ice storage vault, installing 2 - 162 ton new chillers, pumps, and associated chilled water and condenser water piping, utilizing a pond as the cooling tower.
