Verizon Wireless Network Facility

Southlake, Texas

Brandt was selected to provide the Mechanical, Engineering, and Plumbing services on the construction of a new, unique network facility for Verizon Wireless. This new 188,000 square foot facility is a one of a kind design, unlike any other currently found in the United States.

After selection of the building site in Southlake, Texas, the project began in December 2001, and was completed in December 2002. The multi-level facility consisted of an administrative core with adjacent wings. The adjacent wings were designed to house the network operations. They consist of a Data center, Multiple Switching center (MSC), and a Network Operation center (NOC).

Brandt was contracted to provide pre-construction services, design assistance, equipment selection, labor, equipment, material, scheduling and overall project coordination.

Brandt provided and installed a complete HVAC and Plumbing system, which included the following:

• Selection and application of the HVAC equipment / cost saving value engineering
• Coordination, scheduling and planning
• Architectural / structural design applications specific to HVAC and Plumbing systems
• Building Automation system features unique to specific equipment
• Application / Installation of an environmentally friendly condenser water system (i.e. Ozone Generating system)
• Specific noise reduction systems
• Ability to adapt and incorporate specific engineering / design criteria unique to this region of the country
• Utilize state of the art Computer Aided Design (CAD / Drafting / Detailing)
• Custom design and fabricate all piping and duct work within, all done by Brandt's in-house sheet metal shop and plumbing and pipefitting prefabrication facility.
