Baylor University Sciences Building

Waco, TX

This project is located on the Baylor University campus in Waco, Texas. It is a 512,000 square foot, four story building with approximately 200 labs, 40 classrooms and 200 faculty offices. The project was completed in late June of 2004. Brandt performed the pre-construction phase of this project to include design review, value engineering, GMP review, schedule coordination, constructability analysis, and shop drawing coordination.

The building is served by the campus electrical facilities and the campus steam and chilled water loops. Mechanical systems included in this project are:

  • HVAC piping systems
  • Reverse osmosis system
  • Laboratory pressurization and environmental systems to include coordinated exhaust hood and supply air systems monitoring and control
  • Air Handling and purification systems
  • Stainless steel duct systems for corrosive environments
  • Laboratory specialized gas and waste management systems
  • Plumbing systems
  • Storm water removal systems
