Durant, OK
Brandt was the mechanical contractor on this Central Plant project.
The scope of work included the following:
Demolition of existing steam boilers in the Central Plant building
Installation of two (2) new chilled water/ice liquid cooled screw chillers, two (2) cooling towers on the roof with structure support to support them, two (2) 180HP gas fired heating hot water boilers and associated pumps, eight (8) "Ice" thermal storage units, 9,000 feet of underground chw/hhw piping and new tertiary and secondary pumping stations in the building on campus
New electrical service to all equipment including variable frequency drives and a new motor control center in the Central Plant
All of the work was completed during normal school hours without interruptions to the students or staff on campus. Due to the amount of open trenches, safety was a high priority and the work was completed without any accidental injuries. Design was somewhat difficult as there was very little room and a lot of equipment and material to fit into a small space.
This project was completed in January 2004.
