 Brandt teamed with Centex Construction to provide extensive renovation and new construction for this healthcare facility. Brandt was awarded the project at the 50% CD stage and assisted the design team until the final 100% CD scope was developed. The job includes 5,125 tons of cooling for approximately 150,000 square feet of space. Over 100,000 man-hours will be required to install over 336,000 pounds of ductwork, 714 plumbing fixtures, and twenty-five miles of pipe in about nineteen months.
The project is particularly challenging because it involves the relocation of several large existing plant equipment items to a new central plant and all work must be performed without causing interruptions to the hospital's daily activities. The combination of renovation and new construction provides Brandt with the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to plan and execute schedule-critical work in a sensitive environment.
