Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center

Waco, TX

In 2004, Brandt completed an extensive central plant equipment replacement for the original Hillcrest Medical Center complex in Waco. The consisted of replacing all the central plant equipment including: three (3) 1,000 ton chillers, cooling towers, chilled water and condenser water pumps, and VFD's. The project was completed without interruption to hospital services.

Currently, Hillcrest Medical Center is constructing a new 475,000 SF hospital facility to replace the existing Hillcrest Medical Center. The New Medical Center Tower is designed to eventually be a ten story facility; six floors will be constructed initially and four floors in the future. The Women's and Children's Hospital will have two floors with plans for an additional three floors. These two new hospital buildings are connected by a common link building and a central utility plant. The facility includes 2,400 tons of chillers, steam boilers, underground fuel oil systems, automatic temperature controls, air handling units, 1,630 fixtures, a food service kitchen, medical gas systems, water treatment, plumbing, piping, and sheet metal ductwork.

Included in the hospital are 234 patient rooms, ten SICU rooms, and 7 NICU rooms, including one isolation room and two transition rooms. The hospital's Emergency Room and Kitchen are located on the first floor.

The hospital is located on a seventy-acre site. Hillcrest plans to add Medical Office Buildings at this site in the future.
