Southwest Foundation for Bio Medical Research

San Antonio, TX

As one of the world's leading independent biomedical research institutions, the Southwest Foundation for Biomedical Research has been advancing human health since 1941. Today SFBR's multidisciplinary team of over 75 scientists works together on more than 175 major research projects.

Situated and operating on approximately 200 acres in San Antonio, Texas, SWFBR is home to the world's largest baboon research colony. The foundation also has the Nation's only privately owned BSL-4 laboratory.

Since 1986, Brandt has provided a comprehensive HVAC preventive maintenance program at the Foundation. Currently we perform routine preventative maintenance and repairs on 2,000 tons of air conditioning, hot water systems, steam systems and electric heating systems. This is accomplished utilizing two (2) full time Brandt service technicians trained, managed, supervised and supported by Brandt's office.

In addition, Brandt has met the following critical needs at the Foundation:

  • 24 hour/365 day emergency response service
  • Value Engineering for various remodeling projects
  • Equipment replacements (chillers, boilers, package equipment)
  • Steam, hot water, chilled water piping
  • Ductwork
  • Critical air balance to meet SWFBR standards of safety
  • Retrofit and upgrade of systems
  • Plumbing service and installations

Throughout the years, Brandt has considered itself a part of the Foundation's Team and we look forward to providing many more years of service to this valued customer.
