For the past fourteen (14) years, Brandt has serviced the environmental chambers at Bell Helicopter. In addition to preventative maintenance and repairs, Brandt has re-built several of the environmental chambers. There are a very limited number of service contractors in North Texas who service this specialty equipment.
Recently, Brandt was selected by Bell Helicopter/Textron as a prime contractor to remove and replace five (5) existing roof mounted air handling units with new custom made 40,000 CFM air handling units. Brandt removed the existing units which also included the demolition of the heating and chilled water lines. Once the new units where set, the piping had to be reconfigured to meet the new layout. Brandt also replaced all the supply air diffusers (approximately 200) that were served by the new units. In addition to Brandt's self preformed work, we also were responsible for the electrical, roofing, insulation, temperature controls, and interior duct cleaning.
The schedule was challenging due to the fact that the entire project had to be completed during a 9 day period during the Christmas holidays. Additionally, Brandt was required to comply with standard Foreign Object Debris (FOD) procedures that required us to protect the machinery where the work was being performed.
