Brandt performed a turnkey installation of GAF Materials' new Asphalt Blending Line. Brandt was the prime contractor; the project consisted of mechanical work, structural work, site work, concrete foundation work, instrumentation, and electrical work as required for the new process line. The project included the addition of two asphalt storage tanks and blending equipment to offload and transfer asphalt to the existing process. Work included excavation, site grading, paving, drainage, foundations, rail spur extension, pumps, piping, electrical, and instrumentation. Much of the work was performed while the existing systems remained on-line; tie-ins and extensions of services were critical and downtime was kept to a minimum. The entire project was completed 40 days ahead of schedule.
